I must say I was very excited about this release event though, particularly in the first couple of weeks of pregnancy, make up really was the last thing on my mind (weird experience by the way, but I just did not have the force in me to care). Therefore the arrival of this sample was a little bit of sunshine and made me feel really pampered.
So let me just tell all of you then, that this is an awesome little product! I love the pencil design. Clever, chic and practical (no sharpening here girls, you can just easily twist the stick up with the mechanism on the bottom of the pencil). The colors are all more on the natural side, and there is something available for all skin tones. Pigmentation is surprisingly good! Finally we have a lip balm on our hands that you can actually see when applied, and yet it is not a lipstick nor a gloss (it does remain somewhat transparent and is not overtly glossy, but leaves a sort of sheen). The color sent to me is 'Graped-Up' which is a your lips but better kind of mauve. Makes a statement, but is not "in your face" at all. Very adult. You might also think, how can a tinted lip balm ever be "in your face"? Well, you'll be surprised if you try these, because the color payoff does not go unnoticed and can even be built up. If I could wish for one thing, it would perhaps be some shimmery colors as well.
The formula itself if soft, but not too soft, and simply divine. It is a carefully engineered cocktail of avocado and mango butters, jojoba oil and anti oxidants that nourish, pamper and protect your lips as not much else around. My lips at least love it, and feel very comfortable both during and after wearing it. Being Clinique it is naturally perfume free.
I have seen this in shops for about 15-17 EUR and I must say they are worth every cent of it. This item is definitely going to be a piece that cannot be missing from my makeup bag, and I think my next choice might be 'Woppin' Watermelon', a lovely, delicate but happy pink :)
Have you tried the Chubby Sticks? What is your opinion?
EDIT 25/07/2011: Loving my Chubby Stick as usual, but have realized that I would prefer a different color, most likely 'Woopin Watermelon' (as I already mentioned in the posting), which is a fresh pink. Nothing wrong with the color mentioned above, but for some reason mauves are not that close to my heart, even if they usually fit me.Will be back with an update review on the world of chubbies once I got it! (A friend of mine has purchased it for me, now it only needs to make it here :D)
