NEW PUPA Lasting Color Mini Nail Polish

Truth time: as gorgeous as most KIKO nail lacquers are, and as much as I love some of their creme finish colors, I have already grown tired of them. Do not get me wrong! They are absolutely superb nail polishes, the color selection is huge and the price is more than friendly.

But I am weird and you know that by now ;) I simply reached my point of saturation with all the colors and craved intensely a lovely nude or delicate pink, which to be honest also goes better with my understated look. And then again I had to get back to the basics. 1 or at most 2 bottles of the perfect pale shade, preferably in  a mini bottle (when it comes to polishes, mini is at the end always better). I cannot, simply cannot have an ocean of 11 ml bottles to look at and choose from each time I want to paint my nails. And all the base coats, top coats and fixers.... At the end it just got too much and overwhelmed me. I like things way simpler than that.

As I have also in the past used these mini polishes from Pupa it was a quick decision. And the fact that they just relaunched the entire line, this time with 50 colors and a new formula.... I bought one as soon I found it!

Luckily, I could not be happier with my decision, as this new version is even better than the old one was! The 50 colors are divided into 4 groups: nude, glamorous, dark and precious. Naturally I went for one of the nude ones, No. 203, which is a more than lovely pale, but noticeably pink satin (not creme finish, nor pearly but slightly shimmery. Looks just like a veil of satin on my nails). One coat is more than enough if you wish for an even more subtle result as it does give instant coverage, but as I like for my nail polish to look exactly like it does in the bottle, I always apply two coats. This new formula applies smoothly without difficulties (even on my thumb nail that is unfortunately full of ridges), dries surprisingly fast, and moreover barely has any smell!!! As far as I can see from the ingredient list, it is even free of all harsh nail polish ingredients like DBP, toluene, formaldehyde or camphor.

The little bottle with its new chromed cap looks like a gem, and the display where they stand in line is eye catching indeed ;). Suggested price for the 5 ml is 5,90 EUR, although I did find a place where I could get it for 4,90 EUR. Still not the cheapest given the amount of product, and if we consider let's say the polishes of KIKO, but they are very good, my manicure is beautiful and I just love the whole sensation this line of polishes give me. It is a price I am more than willing to pay for this sense of freedom given by this lovely little nail polish.
