Elizabeth Arden - Ceramide Plump Perfect Lipstick

During the weekend we were browsing the town with my husband, and we went into this lovely, small and quite exclusive cosmetic shop down town. Although Elizabeth Arden is somewhat difficult to find in my country, this fantastic little shop carries the whole line and as I have heard that their 'Color Intrigue' lipstick is very good, I went to look at the products.

I did not get the above mentioned 'Color Intrigue', but walked away with a piece from the 'Ceramide Plump Perfect' line, thanks to the suggestion of the shop keeper lady and my adorable, supportive better half. What followed was a revelation of immense measures that resulted in me taking a few days of blog pause. I needed to think: do I , can I keep testing and blogging, or will I only use this one item (and line/brand of makeup) for the rest of my life.

To blog I want and shall. There are so many gems out there (and in the future) yet to discover. So many great and innovative products, formulas to tweak and perfect my makeup bag with. No, I probably cannot stick to this one lipstick alone, it will however definitely be the one I will repurchase as many times as neccessary (regardless of the hefty price of 30 Euros); it will be the foundation of my purposefully small, but carefully selected makeup routine.

This is, ladies (and gentlemen) the perfect lipstick!!! The description on the EA website is: "Voluptuous color. Full volume. Moisture rich. Maxi-Lip™, a proven lip plumper, helps plump up lip volume and reduce the appearance of vertical lines. Provides lasting color and soft shine." I have never read a product description more accurate and true. Every word is correct. With this amazing product my lips are somehow naturally enhanced (in a normal way, no pornstar lips), and thoroughly moisturised, even when I am not wearing actually wearing the lipstick anymore. My lips are soft and smooth at all times. It has no scent, no taste whatsoever, and not even a remote, faint stickiness. And then there is the soft shine, which is truly a soft, delicate, polished shine. Not glossy, not pearly or shimmery and most definitely not glittery. Just soft, elegant and amazing.

The color I chose is "Perfect Blossom" (all the names start with 'Perfect' quite accurately), which is the best pink-beige nude, although the image below does not make it justice. I am extremely pale and more on the cool toned side, but this is a neutral I can see working on almost anyone. For me it provides flawless and almost 'un made up' lips.

Love, love, love!!! Maybe for the first time in my (makeup junkie) life I can say: this is an item I truly could not be without anymore, and EA has now become a brand I will definitely pay more attention to.

EDIT/UPDATE 08/10: That this is one of the best options for lipstick to purchase today I still stand for. But I admit I do not reach for it anymore. Not only have I changed and tweaked my makeup bag too much for it to give the Ceramide Plump a home (it just does not seem to belong), but Maybelline has released their Color Sensational, and I am in love with the creaminess! Compared to a moist and creamy stick of Color Sensational, the Ceramide Plump is just a dry waxy crayon. No matter how good results it gives, the sensation of creaminess is simply a whole different league. Besides, who said I cannot change my mind about a product? ;) :D
